About UAVS Poland Ltd
UAVS Poland . was founded in Cracow in May 2010 to produce the unmanned sighting helicopter "Aquila". Its founders were Prof. Eng. Tadeusz Uhl together with representatives of academic staff of AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow.
The main product of the company was the "Aquila" unmanned aerial vehicle, supplied to civilian customers. In the following years, the company introduced a number of new solutions in the field of reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles, including:
- self-stabilizing observation head for mounting on unmanned aerial vehicles,
- inertial navigation unit - a very small electronic system based on MEMS sensors (Micro Electro-Mechanical Systems), which enables the orientation of objects without a fixed reference point,
- ground-based traction antenna to track flying objects. The aim of this project was to extend the communication range between the ground station and the air target,
- projects based on wireless communication systems were also implemented.
In 2014, work was carried out on the SOL system of aerial surveillance. This project was co-financed by the National Research and Development Center and the European Union under the European Regional Development Fund. Its purpose was to develop a self-stabilizing observation head. This system was to be a response to the Regulation of the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration and the Ministry of the Environment concerning aviation forest monitoring and to be an alternative to the domestic solutions offered on the domestic market.
